Welcome

We are a group of believers who worship God, care for people, and develop believers. We have a “come as you are” culture because we recognize that we are all sinners saved by grace. In other words, none of us are more holy or “better Christians” in God’s eyes. Thank you for visiting us online. We look forward to meeting you in person!

Small Groups

We meet on a regular basis in small groups for accountability, belonging, care, and discipleship. We build relationship, study the word, and pray together. Sunday morning is where we worship and learn about God, but the small group setting is where we build relationship and develop our faith. We have sign-ups for our small groups each semester, but you should feel free to contact one of our small group leaders for more information. Check out our Spring 2025 menu here https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14mvdoWUoG/

Music Ministry

Our music ministry is made of musicians focused on worshipping Jesus Christ with their God given talents. We are not perfect, but we love Jesus and have a good time.

Children's Ministry

We have a Nursery for ages birth through 5, and Children's Church for ages 5 through 5th grade. Our volunteers passionately teach Jesus at our children's level while parents have the opportunity to worship the Lord.

First time visitor?
Sunday morning is our primary gathering. We meet together to worship God and encourage each other in the faith. Please come as you are – no need to “clean up your life” before attending. We are all imperfect people gathering before a perfect God. Our worship service consists of a blend of traditional and contemporary music followed by a message strongly rooted in life application.
Our History

The Churches of God, General Conference began in 1825 because of the labors, revivals, and ideas of John Winebrenner, a German Reformed pastor who ministered in and around Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

During the late 1820s, Winebrenner came to theological conclusions about the nature and government of the Church, the importance of the regenerating experience of the new birth and the ordinances (Believer’s Baptism by immersion, Lord’s Supper and Feet Washing). He reaffirmed the belief that the Bible was the “only authoritative rule of faith and practice.”

In 1830 he joined five other “teaching elders,” or ministers, in central Pennsylvania in forming an “eldership” for the purpose of adopting a system of cooperation.

As Churches of God settlers moved west, they established new churches and elderships in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan. By 1900 the denomination had spread to West Virginia, Maryland, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. The California Eldership began in 1948. Since 2000, congregations have formed in New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

We are a part of the Churches of God, General Conference based out of Findlay, Ohio.

The local church in Duncannon was planted in 1878. Our current building was built in 1957.

We Believe

  • We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
  • We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – one in essence and community.
  • We believe in God the Father, the almighty Creator of heaven and earth.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ our Lord is the Word made flesh – fully God and fully man. We believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died and was buried, rose again on the third day, and ascended into heaven.
  • We believe in the divinity of the Holy Spirit, who indwells the believer. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, enables the believer to live a holy life, comforts, teaches, and bestows spiritual gifts.
  • We believe humanity is created in the image of God, has fallen into sin, and can be born again by the Spirit, justified freely by grace, and saved through the atoning work of Jesus Christ alone.
  • We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, the people of God, whose mission is to make disciples of all nations and to be salt and light in the world.
  • We believe baptism, the Lord’s supper, and feetwashing to be ordinances of the Church.
  • We believe in the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, everlasting life, and the new heavens and new earth.
